Folic acid is an important water-soluble vitamin of the B complex that is not stored for a long time in the body, which makes its dietary intake necessary. Dietary sources of folic acid are green vegetables and whole grains. Use
Assimilation time: Less than 1 hour.

Dosage: 1 tablet daily. Do not exceed the recommended daily dosage.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry environment and protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.

Precautions: Folic acid should be administered with caution and under the guidance of a physician in adults with megaloblastic anemia. The cause of the anemia must be investigated, because if it is due to a deficiency of B12 only and not folic acid, folic acid supplements may correct the anemia, but clinically they mask the damage to the nerves, spinal cord or brain from the lack of B12 until the appearance of irreversible changes. For this reason, a differential diagnosis of megaloblastic anemia must always be made before starting any treatment. Nutritional supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.
