Lamberts Acidophilus Extra 4 contains 4 billion friendly bacteria (at the time of manufacture). The bacteria contained in Acidophilus Extra 4 are dried at high temperatures and surrounded by an acid-resistant polysaccharide coating, protecting them from the acidic ph of the stomach. Although Acidophilus is stable at room temperature, to ensure maximum activity it is recommended to store it in the refrigerator.
